You DON’T need to exercise to lose weight. 😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱
To lose weight you need to be in a calorie deficit. As in, you need to be burning up more energy than your body needs to go about day to day activities based on your current age, activity levels, height and weight.
What is calorie deficit?
This is when you work out, based on your average daily activity levels, the amount of calories you need to maintain your body size. From here, if you consume less that this number.... you will lose body fat. There are hundreds of great calorie calculators online. Search, do one and give yourself a goal 💪 you muse bare in mind however that it is a “rough” estimate and you would need to do trial and error throughout the process. Do yourself a favour too- ditch the scales...!!! Go on how you feel, clothes size and pictures 💪
So, whyyyyyy exercise?
Exercise can obviously burn calories which is why people associate it with weight loss. However if you’re already in a calorie deficit exercise is not needed. I don’t however want you to bin the trainers and never come to a class or be part of my online group again... read on....
You need to find alternative ways to think about why you want to exercise other than “to lose weight”. Exercise can be so amazingly fun, such a buzz, such an awesome bit of YOU time! Exercise also has amazing advantages (in no particular order):
➡️ Increased flexibility, strength, power and just basically feeling like a superhero.
➡️ Increased bone strength.
➡️ Reduced risk of osteoporosis.
➡️ Increased ENERGY
➡️ Reduced risk of chronic diseases- heart disease hypertension, type 2 diabetes.
➡️ Reduced risk of some Cancers.
➡️ Improves mental health via endorphins, a break away from crazy life, group environment, supportive environment, something to work towards 💪
➡️ Improve skin health through production of antioxidants released through regular exercise
I am CERTAIN there are more reasons. Of course exercise can help TOWARDS weight loss or fat loss due to the energy you are using up and let’s be honest we can eat more if we do (a MAJOR reason I exercise..!), but we need to have a healthier mental approach to it.

Let’s have a healthier and HAPPIER approach to exercise and not just think of it as a short cut to achieving weight loss.
