I attended yoga this morning and I always come away feeling thoughtful. I attend Stefanie's yoga out here in Brunei. Stef also uploads yoga sessions for my group and has become a lovely friend out here. She lives and breathes yoga and the principles and I have learnt a lot from her. I have been attending now for over a year.
This morning was about being 'too much' of anything...our thoughts....'I am too tired' 'I am too picky' 'I am too strong' 'I am too heavy' I am too fat' 'I am too much of a wimp' 'I am too determined' ....anything like this. But we are NOT too much! We our US! We are individuals. We are who we are and should never apologise for being the way we are.
I had a little 2 minute ramble on my instagram stories this morning (I have highlighted it under 'too much' if you want to have a watch).
It got me thinking a lot about firstly myself then about the people/clients around me.
At times I wonder if I am too much...I wonder if people think I promote my business too much, share pictures too much, talk about the gym too much, go on too much when I am talking, or not enough... but really, I should never apologise for this. This is me (cue the greatest showman soundtrack- LOVE THAT FILM!!) this is who I am and if people don't like it they don't have to be my friend, don't have to talk to me, don't have to have me as a friend on Facebook and don't need to read this or follow my instagram account. Simple.
The session also got me thinking about the people around me; friends and clients online and in person. They tend to come to me and say, 'I'm too fat', 'I'm totally not flexible', 'I am too weak', 'I can't dance' ....
In a way doing this you're apologising for being the way you are... STOP! See the picture in the previous blog. Movement/fitness of any sort is a celebration of what your body can do. So, now start highlighting the positive aspects. The more you do this, the more positive and determined you'll feel in making your body even more efficient than it is now. POSITIVE THINKING! You are much more likely to achieve your goals in a positive mindset....you know that is true!
