Ok, I’ve failed!
I set out to transfer everything over to a website with my online fitness group a couple months ago.
After trying my hardest I’ve not been able to. It’s taken up so much of my time and energy and I am gutted but also relieved to hold my hands up and say, I can’t do it at the moment. (May try again in the future!)
Firstly there are simply tooooo many videos to download and transfer over to YouTube/Vimeo (if I continued it would be at least another 2 months before I had transferred everything). I could however stop and just start with a few videos but more problems have arisen...
I have paid out a lot of money to create a password protected website so people can access it... and now if I want people to have individual passwords (what I would need!) I need to pay out even more and I don’t make enough money for that, nor do I wish to make my group more than £5/month!! For it to be worth my while I would need thousands of subscribers. I have around 90...!
Other reasons are that I would have no way of stopping people sharing the videos, sharing passwords to enter etc unless I pay out MORE money to password protect every single video. If payments weren’t made it would be a complete pain in the butt cancelling the usernames and passwords.
I am a one man ship here!
I am also a mum and working part time therefore need to be realistic with my time, what I am earning for my time and my stress levels!
I will keep my website up for my blog, for advertising and for purchasing things but the online fitness group will remain on Facebook where it started and where it’s actually doing well.
A HUGE weight has been lifted off my shoulders but I’m also a little deflated too at the fact I’ve not succeeded with it. I despise failing but is this a fail? I have reasons and have learnt a lot along the way.
This group, I have decided, works the way it is....it has for 18 months. I would love to grow it a little bit though for my peace of mind that I am progressing in some way! Last year I set out to reach 100 subscribers. Today I am at around 95 give or take (admin day tomorrow- depends on who’s paid...!)
I need everyone’s help to get to my target 🎯 I would LOVE to reach 150 by the end of this year. I need your help for that. I can advertise all I like....word of mouth is even better! So if you have a moment when you read a post about my group, like and share. If you are a member and you use it, like it, maybe even love it....again, share the love! Thank you so much in advance.
Business with the group will resume Sunday when I film the first two workouts of the year. Does anyone have any requests?? PM me, let’s get this year off to a GREAT start! Let’s set goals... but if we don’t achieve them we have to remember whilst it hurts a bit and feels a bit like failure, it is not. It’s a learning curve and we can set a new goal and put focus into something else.
